A BIT ABOUT US
We’re based in the vicinity of Sheffield, England.
Honestly, it’s horrible.
A third of the City was taken over by the Peak District National Park – a horrendous place filled with mucky foundries and mills polluting the air and waterways.
Dangerous too as all the Lycra clad foundry workers cycle to work and back.
My name is Dave. I’m politely described, by those who know, as a Designer Writer.
Regardless of the poor working conditions and a dozen years in the business, I decided life wasn’t hard enough. What I needed was another 34 years, plus extra time and penalties, to evolve what became
Blue Strawberry Elephant.
In the Cretaceous Period of our story, my future business partner arrived in the shape of Marc; a man with significant skills in Design Communications and Graphics, (when he wasn’t endangering innocent motorists with his two wheel mayhem).
Skills developed by a factor of 1000 after leaving education and joining the team. In May ’26, and with zero charges of homicide, we had worked together for 30 years.
The rest of our crew are a bunch of weirdos.
Extraordinarily nice talented folk, but unworthy of mention here … except for the continuing theme of bringing daughters to work.
I kinda like that about us.
Children are a great reminder of how the World carries on;
regardless of how people abuse the planet – and each other.
We just need to stop thinking generic, one size fits all education systems are the best way to give them a great future – or the most out of them.
Throughout the chapters of our story, my colleagues have amused themselves with not at all “friendly” banter about my world views and out of date practices – but I laugh it off; you can’t buy experience, I keep saying.
Instead I bask in the warmth of my fellow traveller clients and associates, while insisting I need more eggshells to walk on and trying not to Gufuffle Chuckle at the oft times innocent naivety.
Families bicker occasionally – somehow it all works.
Since starting to write this, the World has changed again – the War on Design has pushed the price of a tank of Diesel from £53.29 to £3,000 in less than a month.
As always is the case, what can you do?
Beds still have to be abandoned, stress still has to be dealt with and people who should know better, still have to be tolerated.
However uncertain the future may feel – whatever the latest dystopian predictions, or solutions AI Snake Oil Salesmen try to sell us – there seems to be only one certain truth:
When Characters stay under the duvet and Humans say:
“What can we poor peasants do?”
NOTHING WILL GET BETTER IF ORIGINALITY DRIES UP!
When the opposite of that happens and Humans say:
“Let us not leave it all to the Robots!”
EVERYTHING STARTS TO GET BETTER.
Our MO is to apply skill and determination to The Mother of Invention and use that to help Small businesses look bigger and Bigger businesses look better.
How very “British” of us, eh?
Not a very good “About us” for SEO / GSO purposes – but we didn’t want you to find this page anyway.
Now you’ve seen us, pour yourself a stiff drink and enjoy the rest of your day.
